Tour Guide Certification
Thank you for your interest in becoming GMGV-certified and joining an elite group of Guides and Ambassadors in South Florida, selected and trained for integrity, knowledge, and excellence.
The GMGV certification program includes course materials for 10 classes, followed by an assessment and a final three-part online examination. A minimum score of 97% is required to pass.
If you do not pass on your first attempt, you may retake the test up to three additional times at no extra cost.
Should all four attempts be unsuccessful, you are welcome to reapply for certification; however, the course fee will be charged again.
Upon successfully passing the examination, you will receive an official ID badge and certificate recognizing you as an active and certified GMGV Guide and Ambassador.
There are three levels of certification—Silver, Gold, and Diamond—based on your proven experience in the industry and your duration of membership within the GMGV Association.
The certification fee of $149.00 includes a one-year membership in the GMGV Association, beginning on the date of the successfully completion of the test. After the first year, membership renews automatically annually at $59.00 unless canceled in advance via email.
The GMGV Association works closely with the City of Miami, Miami-Dade County, Attractions and local Venues to provide members with the latest updates, industry developments, and essential information about the greater Miami area.
Members receive a monthly e-newsletter featuring key updates, events, attractions, and traffic information.
In addition, the Association actively promotes partner companies, attractions, and venues that collaborate with our guides.
We strive to secure exclusive opportunities for our members, including promotions, commission programs, invitations, event tickets, and professional presentations.
The Association also facilitates and distributes guiding and transportation requests from national and international partners, connecting tour operators and travel agencies with certified guides and drivers.
Members are encouraged to actively help to make GMGV the perfect tool for our industry we are striving for by contributing and by sharing relevant information that may benefit our guide community.
Please note that in cases of serious misconduct, and following two formal warnings, membership and certification may be revoked without refund. In such cases, all GMGV materials, including the official badge, must be returned immediately.
